An Info Architect is a Tour Guide. Without the silly hat.

The first time I visited the Tower of London, I got lost.

I wandered this way and that, going off the beaten track...I even went into a broom closet and had a chat with the janitor before I finally found my way back to the interesting stuff.

The next time I went, I joined the tour party. I let the expert guide me, and the whole experience was so much more.

No brooms on show for me this time – twas just the juicy bits.

An Information Architect is nothing but an online Tour Guide.

The challenge is to stop people sneaking off into the closet. You’re keeping them on a path that gives the best possible journey.

And I can do that for you.

I’ll break your widgets down into a simple, logical sequence, so everything knits together in the most intuitive way. The finished sitemap will make life easier for visitors and search bots...so people find you and stay with you till they find the info they need.

It’s not just site mapping, of course. I’ll work with your designer too, to make sure each page is working towards your ideal response.

That means using a mix of media, so no-one feels alienated. It means giving a second opinion on usability. And it means setting escape routes for visitors who hit the wrong page...steering them gently towards the info they need.

Usually this is all part of one bigger exercise, involving keyword research and content strategy and other bits.

But let’s see where you’re at, and we can pull something together.

No two challenges are ever the same...so let’s have a chat about yours.
